Consequences and Grace / June 15

Genesis 3 reveals what happens when we step out of God's provision, bringing consequences but also His grace. Satan tempts us by making us doubt God's goodness, character, and Word. Eve's conversation with Satan shows how entertaining temptation leads to sin, following the pattern of the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life. After sin, Adam and Eve experienced shame, fear, and blame. Yet even in pronouncing consequences, God provided the first promise of redemption through Jesus Christ, who would ultimately become our way back to the Father.
